Excursions

Included in the package is a three-hour guided coach tour, featuring most of the highlights of this city. We will visit the Branenburg Gate, Unter den Linden, Tomb of the Unknown Warrior, The Jewish Memorial, The Embassy district, Potsdamer Platz, Checkpoint Charlie.....and many, many more famous sights.

We will also be arranging a number of optional excursions to such places as the markets at Spandau (not to be missed), the palaces and royal gardens at Potsdam, the Russion war memorial. Keep checking back for details and prices of the oprtional excursions.

50 Christmas Markets in Berlin

 With well over 50 Christmas Markets and advent bazaars every year, Berlin features prominently on Germany's calendar of Yuletide events. A popular market is situated next to Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church amidst the bustle of shoppers on the high street between the Kurfüstendamm and Tauenzien. Probably one of the most popular markets in Berlin and well sited in terms of nearby hotel accommodation, is the Gendarmenmarkt. There is a small cover charge to enter this market but most of the other ones are free. Tempted by the seasonal aroma of mulled wine (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and baked cinnamon stars, visitors are drawn to more than 100 handicraft stalls, refreshment stands and amusements at the market. Here, they are sure to find the right Christmas gifts amongst the yuletide decorations, ornaments, toys and pretty accessories on sale.

 Flights and Transport

Included in the package are flights from Dublin to Berlin and return. We plan to use the afternoon flight out with an evening return, allowing good time for transport between Belfast & Dublin airport. Flight details are not available yet but we will post them in due course. Should you wish to take the early morning flight to Berlin and get an extra day at no extra cost, just let us know. Note, you will have a really early start and your hotel romm will almost definitely not be ready when you check in. You will also need to make your own way to thehotel but we will be happy to give you all the information you need.

 Transport between Belfast and Dublin is not included in this holiday but we are offering a special rate of just £10 per person return on the coach, free if you are over 65!. So, we need to know your birth date if you wish to avail of the special fares.
