Sunday 21st – Wednesday 31st May 2017

Day 1:  Sunday 21st May 2017 – Flights from Dublin Departing 10.50am Arrives Tel Aviv 21.50hrs

Upon arrival you will be met by our guide Hanna Ben-Haim and transferred by our modern air-conditioned de-luxe coach to the Ron Beach Hotel in Tiberius on the shore of Galilee.  This will be our base and home for the next five nights.

Dinner and Overnight.


Day 2:  Monday 22nd May 2017  Today we sail on the blue waters of Galilee in a wooden boat...stopping on the waters for a short service.  We visit highlights like Capernaum, the Mount of Beatitudes, Tabgha, and finish our morning at Mensa Christii where Jesus asked Peter “Lovest Thou Me”.  In the afternoon we visit the town of Bethsaida, the home of the apostles Philip, Simon and Andrew, and where the Lord healed the blind man in Mark Ch6.  We will also visit Safed, the capital of Galilee. 

Back to the Ron Beach Hotel for dinner and overnight.


Day 3:  Tuesday 23rd May 2017  All day excursion to the Golan Heights, and we remember the remarkable story of the Six Day War and the Yom Kippur War.  Passing the Druze villages, and viewing the peaks of Mount Hermon, we travel north to Caesarea Philippi and Banias, where Peter gave his great declaration of faith “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the Living God”.  We take a short nature walk along the bank of the roaring river, to the Banias waterfall, one of the sources of the River Jordan.

Next we travel to Tel Bental for a bird’s eye view of the Golan Heights and Israel’s border with Syria.  We take the opportunity to visit Moshav Nov to experience first-hand authentic living for Jews in their land.  We will see the fortress at Nimrod and pass the town of Dan where Jeroboam set up the golden calf. 

Back to the Ron Beach Hotel for dinner and overnight.


Day 4: Wednesday 24th May 2017  Today we drive through the Upper Galilee to the new town of Karmiel, to visit the Nikki Imber Statues depicting the exile, holocaust and the return of the Jewish people.

We travel to Acco on the Mediterranean coast, the capital of the crusader kingdom after the fall of Jerusalem.  We continue through the Plain of Sharon to Haifa and ascend Mount Carmel.  Descending, we travel to Caesarea, the headquarters of Roman power in the time of Christ, where we see the theatre, the aqueduct and the newly excavated city.

We return to Galilee via the Plain of Megiddo, to have dinner at the Ron Beach Hotel and overnight.


Day 5: Thursday 25th May 2017  Today we travel south-west through the Galilean Mountain range to Cana, and on to Nazareth, where Jesus spent his youth. I n Nazareth we visit the Mount of Precipitation, followed by a drive along the Jezreel Valley to Megiddo, the site of the biblical battle of Armageddon.  We then journey past the village of Nain to Mount Tabor, the traditional site of the Transfiguration, and the headquarters of Deborah and Barak as they commanded the armies of Israel. 

Back to the Ron Beach Hotel for dinner and overnight.


Day 6: Friday 26th May 2017  This morning we check out of our hotel after breakfast.   We travel via the Jordan Valley, visiting the mountains of Gilboa and pausing at the Spring of Gideon at Ein Harod, to remember the victory over the Midianites.  We journey through Samaria, where Jacob’s Well in Sycar was located and where the Lord spoke with the woman at the well, continuing past Mount Ebal, Shechem and Mount Gerizim.

Soon we ascend to the Holy City, Jerusalem, and travel to Hotel Yehuda, our base for the next five days.  Dinner and overnight.


Day 7: Saturday 27th May 2017  Today takes us to the wilderness of Judea, passing Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered, and then on to the Dead Sea.

We ascend to Masada by Cable Car, to visit the magnificent ruins of the fortress where Jewish defenders made their last stand against the Romans.  After descending we will have a chance to swim in the Dead Sea, before going to the nature reserve at Ein Gedi where David hid from King Saul.  The climb to the waterfall is a little steep, but an unforgettable experience that will make the bible come alive.

Travelling back to Jerusalem as the sun sets.  Dinner at Hotel Yehuda and overnight.


Day 8: Sunday 28th May 2017  This morning we visit the City of David, the narrow hill near the Western Wall, where Jerusalem “began”.  Here we view walls, towers and fortifications that have protected the city from enemies.  We will see the Damascus Gate, St Stephens Gate, the Pool of Siloam and the Gihon Spring.

We conclude our tour of the Holy City with a memorable visit to Gordon’s Calvary and the Garden Tomb, for an inspiring service celebrating the resurrection of our Lord.

Back to Hotel Yehuda for dinner and overnight.


Day 9: Monday 29th May 2017  We commence our day with an overview of the city from Abraham’s Ridge, making our way to the Mount of Olives.  We walk down the traditional “Palm Sunday Walk”, calling at Dominus Flevit, the place where Jesus wept over Jerusalem.  We visit the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of all Nations with its alabaster windows.  We continue to see Caiaphas’ Palace, where Jesus was first brought before the High Priest.

Back to Hotel Yehuda for dinner and overnight.


Day 10: Tuesday 30th May 2017  We start our day at the Shrine of the Book, which houses the original Dead Sea Scrolls.  Here we take some time to view the scale model of Jerusalem in the 1st century.  We proceed to the Old City and visit the Davidson Centre Archaeological Park, one of the largest and most significant archaeological sites in the country.  We view the Southern Steps which led to the original main entrance of the Temple Mount in the 2nd Temple Period before we continue to the Pools of Bethesda and St. Anne’s Church.

Back to Hotel Yehuda for dinner and overnight.


Day 11: Wednesday 31st May 2017  Sadly, it is time to check out of our hotel.

Flight Departs Tel Aviv 09.40hrs Arriving into Dublin 15.35hrs
